PE Energy Limited is pleased to record another successful commissioning of a pressure control valve (PCV) and a SIL2 shut down valve (SDV) installed at the Estuary Cluster JA Production Platform, with Shell Petroleum Development Company as the end-user. As the location is remote and in shallow waters, hence excluded from power or communication, it was required that the valves would be fully stand-alone.
The purpose of the PCV is to reduce the high flowing pressures from the well towards a preset pressure set point. In case pressures are too high, the SDV will shut down, thereby protecting downstream processing equipment from the over-pressures, assuring safe working conditions for people and assets, and finally, protecting against line break.
PE Energy congratulates its team of highly trained Nigerians for an excellent job and highlights its focus on continuous support of the Nigerian local content objectives, regarding in-country capacity building and prioritization of local manpower. Since the activity required a fast response, and in face of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, impeding the intervention of overseas OEM engineers, the customer greeted with enthusiasm PE Energy’s promptness, operational excellence and top-level engineering expertise, that ensured full satisfaction of all the commissioning requirements.
